Late autumn/winter inspiration: All we have to do is layering.

The days are getting colder, the mornings are very freezy. November is here tomorrow and you can already see christmas products at every store - are you excited for winter, cozy clothes and the snow? I'm not sure, though. But here are some inspirations for those cold foggy and snowy days and I'm getting excited. I'm looking forward to mixing different materials and prints and layering different coats in different lengths. What about you?
The key pieces: Leather jackets, plaid/tartan prints, floral prints, long coats, chunky knits, lace materials, faux fur coats, statement collars and leopard prints.
And: you can mix different prints when they're matching - like leopard and flowers or tartan and lace - everything's possible as long as it looks cool and not too colorful. Keep on layering!

Halloween Special: The Darkest Hour

To be honest: I'm looking forward to Halloween every year. It's not about celebrating, because I usually stay at home and watch a horror movie. It's more the mood. The awesome and scary decorations everywhere, pumpkins, the warm and dark colors - I simply love it! Especially I'm looking forward to posting my Halloween outfit (Like I already did last year as you can see here) every year. I love dark colors, but I don't want to look like a goth or something. I have nothing against the style, I actually love it and experimenting with it. ( but I don't want to look like as I would be a part of a subculture what I'm definitely not, you know... I'm more like a fashion chameleon which loves to express itself haha) But on Halloween you can dress like however you want without being labeled, I love that. Different to my outfit last year, I wanted something less scary (I worn a ribcage dress and studs studs studs...), but still dark and mysterious. And voila - here's my look. I wouldn't only wear it on halloween, it's definitely a look you can wear during the year, too. I loved to mix velvet and lace and of course all in black. The lace thingy is actually a longsleeve - off shoulder shirt. The accessories make it more edgy like the spikey headband I've already owned two years or something and finally found an outfit which looks great including that headpiece. The spikey amulet from H&M is a bit witchy, isn't it? I immediately fell in love with it when I first saw it at the store. The whole look is a mixing of vampire and witch, I guess haha. I'm not quite sure, but it's totally expressing myself. How do you dress for Halloween and what do you think of my look? This look describes me, definitely it does. The dress is from the MashaLovesLina collection on Romwe.com, I always enjoy reading Masha Sedgwick's blog and looking at Lina Tesch's photos on Lookbook.nu and I was so excited for their designed pieces - now I finally got this treasure. :)

For me it's the new modern version of "la petite robe noire", it's elegant, but edgy. If the weather was better, I would wear it way more often! The colder temperature makes me feel mad already haha. Well, but seriously, I am so in love with this dress! I think it's the perfect black dress. Even if I usually don't wear bodycon dresses that often and rather buy skater A-lined dresses, I couldn't think of an better black dress. Somehow every girl should have a black dress which describes her style and personality. It's like Coco Chanel already did almost 100 years ago. She designed that special casual black dress, it was her idea of beauty and comfort. In my opinion it's not about the "casual" aspect, it's more about HOW someone would like to express herself.  Altogether the whole look contains many of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe like my fringed collar, my lace tights and Litas. To be more exact about my necklace, I've been constantly wearing it since I bought it. Pearl necklaces are sometimes a granny thing, I know, but this one is totally the opposite: there are also skulls, safety pins, stars and knots included. You really have to get used to it, you're going to see it many times on me in the future haha.

You all know I'm a huge fan of Truly Madly Deeply shirts and their designs, they are incredible! This one is definitely one of the best tops, I always love the boho / mystic influence. Moons and suns - it can't get any better, those prints are the perfect essential for bohemian looks. I combined the shirt with my really really cozy (it doesn't look like that, but the quilted material makes it really warm!) quilted paisley jacket I got from the last season's sale on MissSelfridge.com. It was a true bargain, I remember. 75%off! It looks like a vintage piece and it's perfect for wanderlust/hippy minded autumn days.

My favorite look lately - when autumn days are not that cold, I still enjoy wearing my thin tights and I'm really into fishnet ones. This look is definitely a 90's vs. girly vs. punky battle haha. To be honest I've been buying a lot of clothing by Zara the last months, because the AW 13 collection is amazing. It's definitely Saint Laurent inspired or copied (however you want to call it) what is great for me, because I loved every single piece, but I could never afford a SL dress for 3000$ and more. Frankly Zara releases some look a likes from time to time and I want to buy them all haha (and I probably will I kinda spend all my money only at Zara when I'm in town - oops). So this floral dress with a cute collar has pretty much the same print as the Saint Laurent one does. Only the collar bow is missing, but that's no big deal, I think. I always wear it with my studded leather jacket to add a punky and grungy touch to it and my Docs.

 The light was perfect on that day which was probably one of the last warm autumn days - that's how I would describe "golden autumn". This look is chicer than my usual ones, but definitely one of my favorite shooting pictures. The chiffon blouse is from the SS13 campaign from Forever 21, I already fell in love with its colors when I first saw it on Chloe Norgaard shooting in Palm Springs for that campaign. The skirt is also made of chiffon and goes perfectly with the colors of my nude tone blouse. For a typical "Tessa" look I punked it up with some fishnets and my favorite booties by Jeffrey Campbell.

Inspired by my favorite AW 13 fashion show by Saint Laurent, I wear a floral dress together with a comfy flannel shirt. When I was in Munich I went to Brandy Melville's shop there and that dress caught my eye - I love daisy prints and finally I got a perfect dress! Its colors are perfect for combining it with different colors. The flannel shirt (damn, it's so cozy and fluffy!) I ordered online has been worn several times under leather jackets (it really helps to keep you warm!), I bought it two sizes up, because it should be a bit oversized. I'm sure you're going to see way more flannel shirts on me the next weeks, I can't stop buying them, they are so perfect for layering and all. Some of them are so cozy and soft, they definitely keep you warm! I'm planning an extra post for my flannel shirts collection (+ shopping and styling ideas). October has begun and time runs so fast... But I'm looking forward to Halloween, because I'm going to show you a halloween special outfit post I planned, I'm not sure if there's a halloween contest this year on Lookbook.nu, but I definitely do it anyways! :)
